66 Days To Go!

-How We Met-

God’s timing is always perfect. Back in 2014, long before we realized what He was preparing for us, we first crossed paths over social media. We went to different schools, but we became friends, shared laughs, and even had a little crush on each other. Eventually, life moved us in different directions, and like many young connections, we drifted apart.

Fast forward a decade to February 2024, when God brought our paths together again—this time in a way that only He could. We came across each other online once again (thank God for the internet!), immediately recognizing one another but playfully trying to act like we didn’t. Looking back, it’s clear that God was writing a story that had been waiting to unfold.

📖 “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight.” — Proverbs 3:5–6

-Our First Date & Early Days-

Our first date was one we’ll never forget. Chase had just graduated from C-TEC, and when Sarah offered to treat him to dinner as a gift, he quickly said, “I appreciate the offer, but that’s not how I was raised—you won’t be paying for anything.” From the start, his kindness and gentlemanly heart stood out.

The night of the date was now here and Sarah decided to wear, a hoodie, and fuzzy boots (very ugly boots)—because she couldn’t find anything to wear and decided if he wasn't going to be attracted to her like this then it wasn't meant to be—almost testing if Chase would care more about appearance than the heart. But Chase only cared about her. From the very beginning, God was showing us that true love looks deeper than what’s on the surface.

When Chase pulled up in his red, slightly beat-up Nissan Sentra, the passenger door refused to open. After some struggling, he gave it a firm hit, and it popped open—a funny, perfectly imperfect start that still makes us laugh.

We spent hours that night at Roosters in Pickerington, sitting at a little corner table on the patio. Neither of us ate much because we were too nervous, but we talked about everything under the sun. When we finally left the restaurant, we sat in the car for three more hours, listening to music, sharing favorite songs, and being amazed at how much we had in common.

By the time Chase dropped Sarah off, it was nearly 4 a.m.—but neither of us wanted the night to end. Right before saying goodbye, Chase leaned in for our first kiss, and in that moment we both knew: this was something real.

📖 “Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud… It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.” — 1 Corinthians 13:4, 7

-The Beginning of a Family-

About a month into our relationship (a month of being absolutely inseparable), Sarah introduced Chase to her 2-year-old daughter, Raelynn. It was a moment filled with nerves, because Sarah knew it meant opening not just her heart, but her daughter’s as well. Deep down, though, she knew this was something that would last.

From the very start, Chase and Raelynn formed the sweetest bond. He played with her, made her laugh, and comforted her whenever she was sad. In no time, he became a safe place for her little heart and the perfect partner for Sarah. Seeing the way he loved both of them confirmed what Sarah already knew—God had brought her not just a husband, but a loving father figure for her daughter.

📖 “Children are a heritage from the Lord, offspring a reward from Him.” — Psalm 127:3

-Why He’s My Person-

Chase makes me laugh like you wouldn’t believe, but he also challenges me in the best way—encouraging me to see things from different perspectives. We constantly find ourselves in deep, thought-provoking conversations that draw us closer together. He is slow to anger, steady in spirit, and thoughtful in everything he does. Nothing with him is rushed or careless; he plans, he considers, and he follows through.

That steadiness makes me feel safe and protected, which in my eyes is all I could ever want in a partner. When Chase says he’s going to do something, he does it—and in a world where promises are often broken, that reliability has been one of the greatest gifts God could have given me in him.

📖 “Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor: If either of them falls down, one can help the other up.” — Ecclesiastes 4:9–10

-Why She's My Person-

From the very beginning, Sarah felt different. Not in a loud or dramatic way, but in a steady, peaceful way. The kind of difference that makes you stop, pay attention, and thank God for whatever He’s doing. Even before I fully understood it, my heart knew I had found someone rare.

Sarah is my person because she is equal parts strength and softness. She’s gentle in spirit, but fierce when it comes to the people she loves. She’s the kind of woman who will pray for you, push you, support you, and correct you — all in a way that makes you better. She challenges me, sharpens me, and brings out parts of me that I didn’t even realize were there. With her, I’ve learned what it means to grow with someone instead of just beside them.

She’s my person because she loves in a way that feels intentional and pure. When she laughs, it’s impossible not to smile. When she’s excited, it’s contagious. When she’s hurting, I feel it too. She lets me be myself fully and honestly and she loves me without hesitation. Her kind of love is rare, and I don’t take it for granted.

Watching her be a mother has shown me her heart in a new, deeper way. The way she cares for Raelynn with patience, tenderness, and so much joy is one of the most beautiful things I’ve ever witnessed. She welcomed me into their lives with trust and grace, and being loved by both of them is one of the greatest blessings God has ever given me.

Sarah is my safe place. My joy. My answered prayer. She brings peace to my mind and warmth to my days. With her, life feels purposeful. With her, I feel rooted. With her, I feel home.

Most of all, she’s my person because loving her has never felt like a question, only an assurance. God made her with every quality I never knew I needed, and He brought her into my life in His perfect timing. She is the woman I prayed for long before I understood what I was praying for.

She’s my person because God chose her for me and every day, I’m grateful that He did.

“He who finds a wife finds what is good and receives favor from the Lord.” — Proverbs 18:22

-God’s Hand in Our Story-

Looking back, it’s so clear that God had His hand in every detail—every missed connection, every season apart, and every moment that led us back together. We believe He was shaping us separately so that when the time was right, He could bring us together in His perfect way.

📖 “He has made everything beautiful in its time.” — Ecclesiastes 3:11

This is just the beginning of the story God is writing for us, and we can’t wait to walk into the future hand-in-hand, with Him at the center of it all.
